My friends call me Charlie Kuenzel, and I’m a very proud 7th generation Saratogian. After graduation from Saratoga Springs High School I attended college with a major in Geology and became a secondary level Science teacher in my hometown. I taught Earth Science for most of my 36 years in the classroom and then added a Senior elective, Astro-physics/Astronomy for the last ten years. I was very active in professional groups and was blessed with many awards for my teaching experience. I was very excited to have been named Teacher of the Year twice, recipient of the Saratoga Springs Rotary Community Service Award and recently induced into the Saratoga Springs High School Hall of Distinction. I have been married to my wife Margaret for 45 years and have three adult children.
I was co-owner of Saratoga Tours for 20 years and presently serve as President of the Saratoga Springs History Museum. I have authored two books on local history and have written articles for the last 12 years for Simply Saratoga magazine.
