I grew up in Corinth NY, one of seven children of Irving and Pauline Densmore. Our Dad loved our community and was Mayor for over 17 years. We grew up in a big house over The Densmore Funeral Home which may sound odd to many but I’m so grateful I was there during my formative years. While we were loved beyond measure yet from the beginning of my memory, we were clearly made aware of others and their feelings, and the world did not revolve around us. Our Mom had an open-door policy to our friends which helped ensure when appropriate it was full of laughter and engaged debate. Mom and Dad were also always civically involved. I owe so much of who I’ve become to them along with the unique environment I grew up in.
I’ve always loved Saratoga Springs and moved here the first opportunity I could in 1992. I’m so grateful for having the ability to live here with my husband Dieter, own a business, and be an active member to a variety of organizations over the years. Currently I’m the Board President of The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation as well as Board member and Mentorship Coordinator at Saratoga Springs Sponsor a Scholar. It’s such an honor to be involved with these organizations and hope to do my part to help ensure the architectural integrity of our beautiful community is preserved and help more awesome students in need of a leg up, have access and graduate from higher education.
