I am originally from Italy and moved to the United States about 20 years ago to pursue graduate education. I have been living in Saratoga since 2013 and have been loving the community since the first time I came and visit. I currently teach Italian language and literature at Skidmore College, and I also offer private tutoring in Italian for adult and children, online or in person.
Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have taught Italian for almost 20 years now, and I really enjoy sharing my culture with people interested in learning about Italy.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Max London’s was the very first restaurant we had a meal when we moved to town, and it has a special place in my heart.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
We moved here about ten years ago.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
Samantha Nass for sure!
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to go to Japan. I am intrigued by Japanese culture and eager to visit the country.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of the shows I liked the most in recent years was Happy Valley. It kept me glued to the screen!
Q: What advice would you give to people?
I am not very good with advice.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
Traveling, traveling and traveling
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
Certainly Queen, it cheers me up.
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to have lunch with Michelle Obama, and we would certainly enjoy a great lunch at Sweet Mimi.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing about Saratoga is the European vibe I get everytime I stroll on Broadway. I love walking downtown and seeing the boutiques, restaurants, bookstore and all the other interesting businesses.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I am not sure.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
I am learning to play piano, for the first time, at my age! I love it and it frustrates me incredibly at the same time.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
Stintino beach in the Italian island of Sardinia. Probably the most beautiful beach in the world.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
I like the month of June when it is not too rainy.
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
Food in Italy !
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My children. I always strive to improve myself, to help them be the best human beings they can be.
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
lavender and coffee, not together, though!
